Wink’s search and social bookmarking service helps users to organize, find, and keep track of interesting content they find on the web. Sliced Bread Design worked with Wink to design a compelling and seductive customer experience that would encourage new and ongoing use.

Strategy & Solution

In order to create the best possible user experience, we put together a comprehensive strategy of expert review, interaction design, and lightweight usability testing, during which we:

• Created a compelling, easy-to-use consumer experience for social search that engaged users, beginning with the homepage
• Surfaced engaging new Wink functionality on a customizable, dashboard-style homepage that clearly communicated the site’s purpose
• Used AJAX functionality to keep pages visually simple and clean, to increase ease of use, and to improve application responsiveness
• Introduced key missing functionality and increased the usability of collaborative features such as Friends, Tags, and Collections
